The Cochrane Heart Group registered as an entity of the Cochrane Collaboration in July 1998. Since 2013 a Satellite Group has been established.
The Cochrane Heart Group's aim is to prepare, maintain and promote the access of systematic reviews of the effect of interventions for treating ischaemic and all other heart diseases and preventing cardiovascular diseases. We also aim to make the results of research assessing the effects of health care on heart diseases more easily available and more relevant to health care professionals, policy makers and to the general public. We have over 30 editors and nearly 1000 authors who contribute to our Group. Our wide membership includes clinicians, researchers and healthcare consumers who share an interest in generating reliable, up-to-date evidence relevant to the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of particular heart problems.
